February Project - Re-design Foyer Tables

This is the only idea I can lock into. I can definitely swing the budget with in a $200 range. My only concern is the actual stability of the structure. Do any of you have any thoughts are suggestions on addressing this? Thanks for the input:)

  1. Front to back the table looks stable, but cross bracing for side to side stability will be important. Not sure if it will look much different if we just went with black pipes for all four legs for simplicity??

Making the feet of the banner stand an X that is closer to the ground might be cheaper/easier and less prone to tripping people. Will the banner "F" be interchangeable like with a velcro sign or something of that nature?

  2. YES - versatility should be maintained on the banner rack to allow different groups to use the tables to advertise different events and ministries. Not completely sure about use of banners just yet. I had one idea of letting them hang their shirts from them (rather than laying them across the tables as they do now). They will definitely be utilized to display ads like the 2010 posters now stuck to the wall. As far as the Revolve banner and its future application with this setup, I am not sure.

I agree with the side-to-side being the biggest need for bracing. The truss is intentional to give it a similar aesthetic to the INFO table and KIDS CHECK IN table (look beneath) AND to give it a similar aesthetic comparable to the sanctuary (which employs the same truss -black). however, it is the biggest part of the budget - $100 including both legs.

  3. Any way we can replicate that look with wood or something and cut costs or does that border looking silly or cheap?

  4. i don't think that borders cheap, i call it thinking creatively. I think that idea is worth meditating on. On a similar note, anything that could be cheap can also look cool when you use lighting. For instance, We build hollow, see-through legs, then stuff them with screen, shine a light through them, PRESTO! You have a column of color. That can be cheezy or cool. Let's think it out and see how the budget goes upon submission.
